Infiniti's flagship QX80 uses body-on-frame construction, sharing its underpinnings with the Nissan Armada. Most other Infinitis, including the QX60, QX50, QX55 and Q50 sedan, are unibody vehicles. The straightening process is quite different for each.
On the QX80, the body mounts to a separate ladder frame. After a collision, we measure the frame and the body mount locations separately. Frame rails may be straightened within manufacturer limits, and body mounts are inspected for damage. Because the QX80 is large and heavy, even moderate impacts can transfer significant force into the frame.
For the QX60 and other unibody models, the structure is one integrated shell. We compare dozens of reference points to Infiniti's dimensional data and make controlled pulls where the procedure allows. High-strength steel parts outside repair limits are replaced or sectioned.
We fit panels, check alignment and calibrate ProPILOT Assist sensors as required.
It is different, not necessarily harder. Its size and frame require specific equipment.
Yes, when repaired to Infiniti's specifications.
A measurement on a frame bench is the only reliable way.
