how to choose a body shop?

You should choose a body shop that provides a complete written estimate, follows a structured repair process for every vehicle and features trained, certified repair experts. Look for a body shop that uses the highest-quality equipment, parts and products to restore your vehicle, who will keep you informed throughout the repair process, provides excellent customer service, delivers your vehicle on time, and conducts a thorough inspection of all repairs before putting you back on the road.

Q

Do I need an appointment for an estimate?

That is your choice. We can set up an appointment for you, or you can drop in during our hours and we will assist you right away. Please allow approximately 15 minutes for the estimate to be written. If there is substantial damage, or you have an unusual vehicle (such as a specialty sports car), it may take up to 30 minutes to inspect your vehicle and write the estimate.

Q

How long do repairs take?

We start work on your vehicle as soon as we get insurance approval. From that point, it depends on the extent of the damage and work to be done. However, we will give you an estimated timeline and keep you informed of the progress on your vehicle throughout the repair process.

Q

What is a deductible?

The deductible is the owner’s portion of an insurance claim. The amount of the deductible is determined at the time you took out your insurance policy.

Q

Will my paint match?

Today’s paint mixing technology allows us to use a computer to match your existing paint. We guarantee a paint match for all vehicle manufacturer colors.

Q

What Constitutes a Quality Repair?

A quality repair begins with a comprehensive inspection to fully assess the damage and repairs needed to the vehicle. A structured repair process should be used to ensure the repair meets the vehicle manufacturer’s standards. A thorough repair should be performed by experts with I-CAR and ASA certifications, and training in the latest vehicle materials and technology and uses the highest quality parts and products should be used to restore your vehicle to pre-accident condition. Before the vehicle is returned to you, a thorough interior and exterior inspection, a test drive and a complete detail should be completed to ensure the repair meets your standards.

Frame Repair F.A.Q.

Q

What is a frame on a Car?

A vehicle frame, also known as its chassis, is the main supporting structure of a motor vehicle, to which all other components are attached, comparable to the skeleton of an organism.

Q

Is a car considered totaled if the frame is bent?

Not necessarily, typically, cars are considered to be “totaled” when the cost to repair the vehicle is higher than the actual cash value (ACV) of the vehicle.

Q

How to know if the frame is bent on a car?

To determine if your car frame is bent, you can check to see whether your doors are able to close smoothly, without additional force. In addition, you can measure the opening of each car door. If one or more door opening is smaller than the others, this is a sign of a bent frame.

PDR F.A.Q.

Q

How does the paintless dent repair work?

With PDR, the goal is to push the indented metal back into shape while preserving the factory paint. First, a technician determines the best way to access the damaged area either through a window opening or by removing trim pieces or inner panels.

Q

How long does it take to fix a car dent?

If your damage does qualify for Paintless Dent Repair, the process will take only a hour or so for a single dent. For hail damage, the process usually takes between 1-3 days. This will depend on the extent of the damage to the vehicle.

Q

When PDR will or Won't Work?

Damage like a door ding, a basketball sized dent, or hail damage to your car can likely be removed using Paintless Dent Removal.
It isn't feasible to use this repair method in certain circumstances:
The dent has sharp edges or torn metal.
The paint inside a dent is broken or scratched.
The indented metal is situated near the edge of a panel.
The dented area has had previous body work done.

Bumper Repair F.A.Q.

Q

Is My Bumper Repairable?

In case of minor scratches or dents on your bumper the suggested solution would be to repair it. Small bumper dents can easily be pulled out and scratches can be rinsed off, scrubbed, wiped, sanded or covered up. At Regal Repair our skilled estimator will provide you with the safest and financially sound options to choose from.

Q

When my Bumper needs to be REPLACED?

When the bumper suffered a major dent or a crack, the impact goes beyond more than just the appearance of your car. Chances are there are underlying damages to bumper enforcer and mounting plastics which will only be noticeable after the tear down. With a crack, your bumper’s structural integrity will be weaker, which means it won’t be able to provide maximum protection in case you get into another accident. Since a crack generally can’t be fixed, our estimator will prescribe to Regal Repair certified technicians to replace your bumper.

Q

How Much Will Bumper Repair Cost?

Costs associated with bumper replacement or repair arise from:
Labor costs associated with removing the old bumper
Labor costs related to installing the new bumper
The price of the replacement bumper
Potential costs associated with painting your new bumper to match the vehicle color
With these things in mind, a bumper replacement or repair can cost between $250 to $1200 or in some cases more.
