Why it is critical to Repair Your car at Jeep Certified shop

Todays vehicles are complicated, collision damage can be more than meets the eye. Your vehicle and its components are built as a complete safety system. Every part is built to Alf Romeo proprietary specifications, tested and proven to fit perfectly and seamlessly with all vehicle parts, systems and sensors. Using Genuine Parts and having your vehicle repaired by a Certified Collision Repair Facility can be critical to the structure and safety of the vehicle. The shock of a collision can affect a vehicle’s electronics, such as the blind spot detection system. If this system is disengaged or off by a slight amount, it could mean you will not be alerted to a motorcycle in the next lane. This could make a difference between a simple lane change and an accident.

After an accident: What you need to know

You have certain rights with regard to accident repair. Most importantly, the right to:

  • Choose where you want your vehicle repaired.
  • Approve which parts are used on the vehicle.
  • Be informed of what parts are going to be used before repair begins.

Here are some tips and tools for the repair process.

  1. Call your insurance agent to file a claim.
  2. The vehicle comes to the collision shop of your choice.
  3. You tell the repair facility you want the vehicle repaired with OEM parts.
  4. Our I-CAR Platinum Certified estimator calls the insurance company.
  5. Payment is handled between the collision shop and the insurance company.

Remember – no one plans to have an accident, but in the event of the unexpected, choose our Certified Collision Body Shop. Get peace of mind you deserve knowing that your vehicle will be repaired by trained technicians using factory-original Parts.

Jeep models we repair most

Jeeps aren't one kind of vehicle. Some are built on a separate frame like a truck; some are unibody, where the shell itself is the structure. That single difference changes how a repair is anchored, measured and quoted — so they're grouped here by what's actually underneath rather than by size.

Don't see yours? We repair every Jeep, current or not, and the procedures are pulled for your specific VIN regardless of what's on this list.

Whichever you drive, the work follows Jeep's published procedures with genuine parts, and driver-assistance sensors are recalibrated before the vehicle goes back to you — which matters more than usual on a lifted or modified Jeep, because ride height is part of what those systems assume.

Jeep owners ask us these

Including the ones about lift kits and trail damage, which most shops would rather skip.

Is my Grand Cherokee built on a frame like a Wrangler?

No, and it's the most common misunderstanding we hear about Jeeps. The Grand Cherokee is unibody — there's no separate ladder frame, the shell itself is the structure. The Wrangler, Gladiator, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are body-on-frame. Cherokee, Compass and Renegade are unibody like the Grand Cherokee.

It matters because the two are anchored, measured and repaired differently. A shop that assumes "Jeep means ladder frame" starts from the wrong procedure, and on a unibody vehicle damage travels further through the car than the visible dent suggests.

My Wrangler's doors and roof come off. Does that change anything?

It helps more than it hurts. A Wrangler is designed to be taken apart — doors, roof and windscreen frame all remove, and the fenders bolt on rather than being welded — so some repairs that would be involved on another vehicle are genuinely straightforward here.

The flip side is that bolted assemblies depend entirely on the right hardware, the right torque and correct alignment. Reused or substituted fasteners and slightly-off panel positions are what produce the water leaks and wind noise Wrangler owners complain about after a repair. There's also aluminium in places on these, which is worked separately from steel to avoid cross-contamination.

My Jeep is lifted and on bigger tyres. Is that a problem?

Not for us — plenty of the Jeeps we see are built the way their owners wanted them. But tell us at the estimate rather than letting us find out on the lift, because it changes two things.

First, driver-assistance calibration assumes the vehicle sits at a specified ride height, with cameras and radar aimed relative to the road. A lifted Jeep on oversized tyres may sit outside what the calibration procedure expects, which affects how — and occasionally whether — those systems can be brought to specification. Second, aftermarket bumpers, winches and armour aren't on the factory parts list, so an insurer's estimate will usually be written for the original component rather than the one that was actually on your Jeep.

I damaged it off-road, not in a crash. Is that covered?

We genuinely can't answer that for your policy, and anyone who tells you they can is guessing. In general terms, damage from an impact — hitting a rock, sliding into something, rolling — is usually looked at differently from wear, mechanical failure or damage that accumulated gradually, and which part of a policy applies varies by carrier and by how the damage happened. Some policies treat off-road use differently from road use. Check yours, or ask your agent.

What we can do is document what's actually wrong with the vehicle accurately and in detail, which is what any coverage conversation depends on. We're a body shop, not your insurer — but an honest, itemised assessment is worth more in that conversation than a general description ever is.

Mine's a 4xe. Does the hybrid system change the repair?

Yes. The high-voltage system is safely de-energised before anyone works on the vehicle, and the battery pack is treated as part of the structure rather than as a component bolted underneath — so an impact near it is assessed as a structural question.

On a Wrangler 4xe that's worth knowing specifically, because the pack sits low in the vehicle. Underbody contact that a petrol Wrangler owner would shrug off is a different conversation on a 4xe, and it's one worth having before you assume it's nothing.

My insurer wants me to use one of their shops. Do I have to?

No. In California you choose where your vehicle is repaired. Under California Insurance Code § 758.5, an insurer generally may not require you to use a specific repair facility, and must inform you of that right if it recommends one.

On a modified or lifted Jeep this is worth exercising deliberately, because a shop that doesn't ask what's been changed will estimate the vehicle as though it left the factory that way.

Will having the work done here affect my Jeep's warranty?

No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can't void your warranty simply because an independent shop carried out the work. What it can do is decline to cover damage caused by an improper repair — which is the real reason certification matters.

We follow the published procedures for your vehicle, use genuine parts, and document what was done, so there's nothing for anyone to dispute later.
