The Sonata is Hyundai's midsize sedan, with a sleek fastback-style roofline and, in recent model years, a front light bar that runs across the full width of the nose. It is a comfortable commuter, which means most of the Sonatas we repair have been in traffic collisions on LA freeways and boulevards.
On newer Sonatas, the front lighting is integrated into the design of the hood and bumper. A front impact that looks moderate can damage headlamp assemblies, the full-width lighting element and their mounting brackets. We inspect every mount, replace damaged lighting with the correct Hyundai parts and verify aim and function.
The Sonata's roofline flows into the trunk lid and rear quarters. Rear-end and side impacts to the quarter panel often require sectioning a welded panel rather than bolting on a new part. As a Hyundai-certified collision center, we follow Hyundai's procedures for where and how to section, weld and seal.
Hybrid Sonatas require isolating the high-voltage system before repairs and protecting the battery from heat. Some Sonata Hybrid versions were offered with a solar roof panel; if yours has one, roof and pillar repairs require extra care.
Front radar, a windshield camera and rear corner radars support Hyundai SmartSense features. We complete the scans and calibrations Hyundai specifies after bumper, windshield or mirror work.
