Hyundai Kona Body Shop: Gas, N Line and Kona Electric

The Kona is Hyundai's subcompact SUV, sold with gasoline engines and as the Kona Electric. The second-generation Kona grew in size and gained a thin, full-width light bar across the nose. It is a common sight in Los Angeles, where its compact footprint makes it a favorite for city parking, and that is also where most of its damage happens.

City Damage We See Most

  • Front bumper and light bar damage from low-speed parking impacts
  • Scraped lower cladding and wheel-arch trim from curbs
  • Rear bumper hits with parking sensor damage
  • Door dings on tight street parking

The Full-Width Light Bar

On newer Konas, the horizontal lamp across the front is part of the lighting system, not decorative trim. A front impact can crack it or its mounts. We replace it with the correct Hyundai part for your trim and confirm it works with the headlamps and turn signals.

Kona Electric

The Kona Electric carries its battery under the floor, and the charge port sits at the front. Before repairs we disable the high-voltage system following Hyundai procedures, and after front-end work we test charging.

N Line Parts

Kona N Line models have sportier bumpers, cladding and wheels. We order N Line-specific parts so the repaired car keeps its look.
