The Honda Odyssey is built around family life, with power sliding doors, flexible Magic Slide second-row seats and a cabin designed to keep kids in view. After a collision, the parts that make the Odyssey so practical, especially its sliding doors, need specialized attention.
Odyssey sliding doors ride on upper, center and lower tracks, and the center track is built into the rear quarter panel. A side impact near the rear wheel can bend that track and prevent the door from closing smoothly. We inspect all three tracks, the rollers, the power door motor and the pinch-protection sensors, and we adjust the door so it seals properly and opens without binding.
Minivans are frequently struck in parking lots and school pickup lines. We repair dented sliding doors, quarter panels and rear bumpers, and check the power tailgate, camera and parking sensors after rear impacts.
Because the Odyssey carries children, we check seat anchor areas and occupant safety systems after significant collisions. If airbags deployed or seat belts locked, those components are replaced according to Honda's procedures. We also recommend replacing child safety seats that were in use during a crash, following the car seat maker's guidance.
The Odyssey's Honda Sensing features rely on a windshield camera and front radar. We scan and calibrate them after windshield, bumper or grille repairs.
